New Year’s Resolution for Abs

Crunch Time: Real Tips for Getting a Six Pack

Now more than ever everyone is rushing to get better abs, the weather is changing and that means the tops are about to start coming off. I think we’ve all seen the men and women fitness models and want abs like them.  There are people who would like to have a great body without spending too much time and effort. With the fast paced kind of lifestyle that most people have, are there easy ways to get the body that you want?

Actually there are quite a few easy and simple tips that would help you get the 6 pack that you want.

Avoid eating while watching TV

Since your mind and focus will be on the movie and television show that you are watching, you wouldn’t be able to watch the amount of food that you are eating and you could end up overeating.

Do not skip breakfast

It is the “most important meal of the day”. When you wake up in the morning, your metabolism is accelerated and fat starts to burn. You need enough food to keep this pumping throughout the day. You will burn Calories during the day, regardless but by avoiding a meal, psychologically, you’re apt to over-eat the next meal, it’s like the feeling of making up for lost time, but with food.

Practice incorporating good eating habits to your daily routine. Aside from making sure you eat regularly and not in front of the television, you need to make sure that good fats are incorporated to your diet. Some people tremble in the word fats, well, there are fats that are good for you. Fish oil, flax-seed oil, extra virgin olive oil are the healthy fats.

Water is good for you

The more water you drink the better. You don’t have to stick with just drinking 8 to 10 glasses of water when you can drink more, but at the very least drink that much water every day to stay hydrated. This will help regulate fat burning and your body’s metabolic process.

If and when you’re drinking milk then choose skim milk. There are healthier alternatives; all you need to do is make sure that whenever you go to the store to buy groceries, you choose the healthier alternative. I personally go for the no-added-sugars and non-soy coconut milk; packed with extra vitamins.

Your diet is incomplete if you don’t have some mobility into your routine, so incorporate exercise routines into your life. Doing hundreds of sit-ups a day is not good enough. Think about your whole body and not only about your abdomen. When aiming for six pack abs, cardiovascular exercises are a must. This kind of exercise increases stamina and heart condition, it burns fat and calories in a quick way.  Cardiovascular exercises can be done in as little as 5 minutes a day, and can be increased to 45 minutes. Aside from cardio you can also do some weight training to boost your fat melting abilities and get the body that you want.

Not all exercises can be done inside the gym, take your workout outside. Take a walk, stand up straight at a party; you can even do some exercises during your break time while you are sitting down at your desk.

Sports, both indoor and outdoor work wonders when it comes to getting better abs especially a sport that you enjoy. The level of competition will push you more and if you’re having fun you won’t even notice yourself tiring out. A simple game of basketball everyday can go a long way.

Aside from proper diet and exercise, getting the minimum seven to eight hours of sleep every night is vital. Sleeping rejuvenates your body. It repairs your system and cells by decreasing your level of stress hormones.

And last, you have to be consistent. You may take my advice or you might devise your own health regimen, but know this: even when you obtain your 6 pack it won’t just stay there. You are going to have to constantly be pushing and improving yourself. The good news is that it doesn’t get easier over time, you just get better! Getting a Six is easy, as long as you make the decision to do it, stick with it then get it.
